YOU GOT THE POWER is a California based company which started in the early 1990's to promote a positive lifestyle through multi-media. This included YOU GOT THE POWER, a television series for health and fitness; YOU GOT THE POWER, a CD to Relax-n-Renew your body, mind and spirit and YOU GOT THE POWER, a graphic tee shirt and cap line with uplifting messages for young youth.
Today's youth are bombarded with negative messages: on their clothing, in their music, on television, computers etc. YOU GOT THE POWER reminds us all of the power we have as individuals and parents to make a positive difference in the lives of our children, our own lives and the world around us.
Our company has received many thank you letters from public officials, national parent organizations and schools. A middle school Occupational Specialist in Florida wrote,"...THEY (tee shirts) HAVE BEEN A GREAT HIT WITH OUR SUPERSTARS PROGRAM WHICH ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO INCREASE THEIR GPA EACH GRADING PERIOD. OUR THEME IS THAT WE WANT STUDENTS TO THINK IT'S COOL TO ACHIEVE, AND YOUR SHIRTS CERTAINLY ENHANCE THE PROGRAM. THANK YOU FOR HELPING US ACHIEVE OUR ACADEMIC GOALS."
As a mother, I realized that children sometimes mirror what they see. We need to encourage our children towards good values rather than what the youth culture is often selling. We certainly have the power to purchase clothing for them that convey a positive and fun message instead of a negative one.
Today's youth have become "walking billboards" and their tee shirts viewed as a reflection of themselves. YOU GOT THE POWER offers the consumer the opportunity to make a positive statement in today's society.
